What a load costs
A standard 13-gallon kitchen garbage bag holds about 15 to 20 lb of everyday laundry, depending on what is in it.
| Weight | Price | For scale |
|---|---|---|
| 10 lb | $25.00 | Under the flat-rate limit |
| 14 lb | $25.00 | The flat-rate limit |
| 15 lb | $26.25 | A light kitchen bag |
| 18 lb | $31.50 | A typical kitchen bag |
| 20 lb | $35.00 | A full kitchen bag |
| 30 lb | $52.50 | About two bags |
| 40 lb | $70.00 | Two full bags |
| 57 lb | $99.75 | Around $100, a family week with larger loads |
Over 14 lb, the price is the weight times $1.75. For many adults, a week of laundry fills one bag, about $30 at Take A Load Off. A family with larger loads spends around $100. That is washing, drying and folding taken off your to-do list, leaving you more time for everything else life has going on.
